first off, i’d just like to say i love your guys’ work, its inspiring. i’ve been following your movie’s progress ever since the first trailer came out and it’s been a pleasure to watch your dreams come to fruition. I myself am a huge loz fan and had a couple questions about both the costume and your filming technique for a couple projects of my own.

    1) where did you get the wig??? i’ve looked around the internet and i can never find a good enough wig for Link.

2)what material did you use for Link’s costume?

3)what did you use to capture sound? (specifically dialogue)

again, you guys are awesome and my inspiration to pursue my own projects (though mine will never be near the same level as the production your putting together)

p.s. Karla, you’re my hero. never change.

alright, i know i just left a message before, but i wanted to ask you guys one more question. You three have been working on this project for a few years now, with a very limited budget and other such constraints, what made this movie possible?

again, great job. you guys are inspiring. good luck.

    your avid fan,

    Brandon

Hey I just have one quick question…

What really moticated you to make this other than just liking Zelda?

  4. Ciano says:

Why did you change the title to exclude the “Legend of Zelda” moniker? It’s just “The Hero of Time” now? That makes it feel less special…

Hello, do you guys have any ideas on how you would distribute this film, like some sort of media company, and if you do ever find a distributor, would you cut your losses and hire a CGI company to do the special effects?

I’ve seen the trailer, and it looked totally unbelievable, literally.
all the characters have clean faces. which makes the movie look super fake. you should probably fix that before you make a movie. DIRTY THEIR FACES.

    Hello,
I have got a few questions:
    1. Is this movie going to be freely available or will we have to pay for it in any way?
    2. I read that the movie will be about two hours long – do you have to cut out much to realise this and if so, will there be any chance of a “long” edition?
    3. It has been asked before, but do you have any time frame (doesn’t have to be a specific date) when the movie will be published?

    Thank you very much!

  11. Phantom7 says:

How much of the original music from the game will return in the movie? Because there are a lot of cool songs in the game that I would hate to see taken out, like the Hyrule Field theme, the Gerudo Valley theme, the Forest Temple theme, and several others. A lot of Zelda fans love the music in that game, and taking out too much of the music might destroy the Zelda feel, which is not what I’ve been waiting so long to see.

were you guys at all hesitant when deciding whether or not link should have a speaking role in the film? seeing as how he has never spoken in any of the games, and even then only in three adaptations of the series, did this ever give you pause or did you guys just not care since you are technically making your own version of the zelda story?

    [Reply]

  24. Phantom7 says:

Hello, I would just like to say that the film looks great, especially to be low-budget. I’m excited about this movie because I’ve been an LoZ fan my entire life. I’ve been playing Ocarina of Time since I was about 6 years old, so I was very excited to find out about this.

But as a little request, just for LoZ fans like me, could you PLEASE at least put the Gerudo Valley theme somewhere in the movie? And also the final battle theme for the Ganon fight at the end. That would be awesome if you guys could remix some of those songs!

What I feel the need to know the most…is how you got people to stick with this project for so long without having them quit on you.

Here are a few questions for you:

Is this movie a straight-forward adaptation of “Ocarina of Time” or have you guys taken liberties to alter the plot of the game?

How hard was it to come up with authentic dialogue for Link? Did you guys have to study any dialects or Old English speech or had something in mind in the first place? As you know, he has always been a silent protagonist of the series…and each fan has his/her own interpretation of him. Thusly, your interpretation may not be welcomed with open arms.

  60. Whizzer says:

Whoa! After watching your latest trailer, I noticed that your Ganondorf has the exact same sword my brother does. We’re actually planning to use it for a series we’re making, Scandinavian Man. It was going to be the choice weapon of Skeletoast, who happens to be a rather Ganondorf like character.

But your hilt looks slightly different. Did you bend the pointy things outward?

Anyway, this movie is looking good. I look forward to seeing it!

    Okay, I have three questions:
1.) Will any Gerudo other than Ganondorf be in the movie (because the fire Sage looks a little Gerudo-ish)?

3.) (This is for the score guy) which Zelda songs will be featured in the movie?

Are you going to add up all the registrations in a certain state to make a “Master Tally” for all the cities registered in that state? then choose the most popular city for a showing? or will you tally up cities separately and choose locations that way?

  85. Zefie Kirasagi says:

I’ve been watching the progress of the movie for some time now, and while I’ve realized that it’s obviously not an exact replica of Ocarina of Time, I do still have a few pertinent questions:

    1. The hooded girl in the trailers – is this a form of Sheik from the game, and are Sheik and Zelda two separate characters now?
    2. Will there be any talk of romance for Link outside Zelda herself, such as the Kokiri Saria or Malon, who he originally received the horse from in the game?
    3. Will the horse Link rides still be named Epona?
    4. The scene in the first trailer where Link punches the floor to create a flash of light – is this going to be your version of the spell Din’s Fire from the game? (if you choose to answer this, youtube what Din’s Fire is if you don’t know, don’t just say “Wtf = Din’s Fire? o.0)

    A. Compose and record a theme song for the movie
    B. Get a logo for this movie tattooed on my forehead
    C. Brainwash my friends into anticipating this movie as much as I do
    D. Start a clothing line with this movie’s logo on it
    E. Orchestrate a “sit-in” until this movie is released
    F. Throw fake animal blood on people that are seen wearing any type of video game or movie shirts that are irrelevant to Zelda
    G. Scratch the movie title and release date into as many cars as I can get my hands on
    H. Light myself on fire and with my last dying breath, muster up enough strength to scream “SUSCRIBE TO THEHEROOFTIMEMOVIE CHANNEL ON YOUTUBE”
    I. Live for the movie, breath for the movie, die for the movie.
or K. Make some informational flyers to hand out to people.

So just choose some, and I will do it as your faithful minion. Or, if there is anything else you’d like me to do, drop me a hollah. :-)

I listened to the score from the film you guys have uploaded and am extraordinarily impressed with it. I can’t wait for the film to be released and see and hear it in all of it’s glory.

I don’t know if this is really a good question or not, but one of the things that was floating through my head for some reason was: Once the film is completed in it’s entirety and ready for theatrical release, do you already know specifically where you’ll be showcasing it (not just cities but also specific areas or cities (for example I live in the Los Angeles area and there’s a lot more than JUST Los Angeles out here)? And if so, do you also know specific theaters in general right now or is that still to be decided? Also, do you have an idea of a cover charge to see the film? And lastly, will it be a theatrical release with the hard copy of the film to be released on a later date or will it be distributed immediately after completion and/or the initial showcasing of the film?

Sorry if any of that is badly worded. It’s almost 4am out here and I’m getting pretty tired….

Hahahaha. The button says “Okay, I’m done” and I was just thinking that, as in “Okay, I’ve said enough, I’m done.”

P.S. TO EVERYONE ABOUT THE QUESTION OF COST > READ THEIR DISCLAIMER. THEY CANNOT CHARGE MONEY FOR IT BECAUSE OF LEGAL REASONS. Therefore, if they did do a DVD release, they couldn’t ask anyone to pay for it, so I’m pretty sure they will have the movie up for download, but not on DVD.

-Are you going to put a download link on this specific site so you can just download it and burn it on a CD/ watch it from your computer?

    Hello!
I have been looking forward for this movie apart from MGS philantropy… and I have to tell you that your movie sounds OK. I’d seriously want to know more, but… dont wanna spoil the fun!
So, my question is dead easy for you. Its about the distribution of the film.
Okay, as far as I know, fanfilms cannot earn money, otherwise enterprises could earn money out of them, so they normally make them for no money at all. Movies like MGSP or LOZSOD are no budget and are generally widespread by the waves of the net. So, my question is… are you guys gonna charge for watching the movie? Are you going to let it loose through the net? What is exactly the plan of distribution you guys have? I am curious, because I want to download and watch this movie ASAP.
I thing, just think that you can see my email, so if you could take your time and tell me the answers via email it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance! I hope you guys make a great world premiere!

The first thing you must understand is that there is no physical exercise that can reduce fat from a specific part of the body. When you burn fat for energy, as during an aerobic activity, fat loss will occur systemically, i.e., from all over the body. But since fat distribution naturally varies from person to person, depending on inherited genetic factors, some people will tend to lose abdominal fat faster while others may lose fat at say hips or thighs faster. So do not compare your abdominal fat loss graph with others.

Why did you use British accents if you were going to butcher them so badly? Seriously, those are some of the worst attempts I have ever seen.

Hi everybody! First, I want to congratulate you for this excellent work!
I’m brazilian, an here in Brazil “Zelda” has a legion o fans. Unhapply, there is no subtitle in portuguese to your movie. Could you send the text used by the actors, like an english subtitle, which could allow the fans (me and other bros) to translate this text to make a pt-br subtitle?
Thank you for your attention! We will be waiting for your answer!!

    Your movie sucks.
I appreciate what you tried to do but really.. How little more it would have taken to go from okay to fantastic…

Like maybe attempting to make your goron look goron-y

    Or painting Impa’s face

Or making Sheik less whiny and less obviously Zelda.

    OKAY I really hated it.

I know that Nintendo has rights but all you have to say is that it’s Nintendos original game and that it’s fanmade. With that being said foul you email me the movie so I could watch it.

    Thank you, -True LOZ fan
